Investigating food insecurity: An Analysis of incidence and severity among tribal households in Gujarat

United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) set up 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. One of various SDGs is achieve zero hunger, which directly connected end food security improved nutrition. Present study attempted analyse dimensions insecurity among tribal households Gujarat with help Foster, Greer Thorbecke (FGT) index. The head count ratio, gap (short-fall), squared (severity insecurity) were estimated 81 per cent, 14 3 respectively. survey result has showed that from 150 sample households, 121 (80.67%) insecure only 29 (19.33%) found secure. average dietary energy available for secure was 3178.25 Kcal 2272.44 Kcal, Promotion family planning, enhancing household’s farm income-earning opportunities through provision sufficient input enhance agricultural production productivity creation rural employment recommended.
